Report: Luminosity set to debut new Counter-Strike 2 roster at XSE Pro League 2026
Dust2.us has learned from multiple sources that Luminosity are set to debut their new Counter-Strike 2 tomorrow at XSE Pro League 2026, with an announcement expected in the immediate future. Per our sources it is understood that Lucas "lux" Meneghini is in Guangzhou, China with the team and in place to take over IGL duties as expected in place of Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, who is reportedly set to join 100 Thieves.
Luminosity's new roster consists of four players acquired from Monte alongside lux, with the Canadian organization inheriting Monte's #17 position on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) as a result.
Luminosity's return to Counter-Strike was first reported on by HLTV's Luís "MIRAA" Mira, with Mira reporting that the lineup's contracts were set to expire with Monte in the immediate future, while the players told the Ukrainian organization they planned on moving on from Monte.
The upcoming signing marks Luminosity's return to the Counter-Strike scene after last hosting a Brazilian lineup all the way back in 2019. Since then it has been a tumultuous time for Luminosity as the organization, with the Toronto-based organization changing hands multiple times before being reacquired by founder Steve Maida in January 2026.
The organization most famously hosted the Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo-led roster that won MLG Columbus 2016 while also hosting a number of North American and Brazilian teams from 2015 to 2019.
Luminosity are expected to debut their new roster in five hours versus Nemesis:
-
Lucas "lux" Meneghini -
Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras -
Oscar "AZUWU" Bell -
Aurélien "afro" Drapier -
Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov
Luminosity will debut today versus Nemesis at 04:00AM.
