Official: 100 Thieves bench Ag1l
100 Thieves have announced the benching of Portuguese rifler André "Ag1l" Gil, confirming an earlier report by RTP Arena that the Portuguese rifler would be leaving the starting lineup. The removal of Ag1l from 100 Thieves' starting lineup marks the first change for the Los Angeles-based organization after they returned to Counter-Strike 2 with a hand-picked roster in January 2026.
During his time with 100 Thieves, Ag1l helped the NA organization to secure a place on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) thanks to early successes, including a second-place finish at DraculaN Season 5. However, sustained success and efforts to secure an A-tier or S-tier LAN berth proved elusive for 100 Thieves, with the team falling short in various qualifiers while also exiting online events like CCT earlier than expected on multiple occasions.
This resulted in 100 Thieves ending the first season of 2026 stagnating around the 35-45 range in the VRS, slightly short of what is needed to start encroaching on the upper echelons of the scene.
With 100 Thieves looking to refresh and reinforce ahead of the new season, Ag1l is perhaps an obvious player to upgrade as he ended the season with a 1.05 rating over 115 maps. While this statline isn't terrible in a vacuum, the 23-year-old Portuguese rifler has also struggled with consistency, especially in the past two months, slipping to a 0.93 rating over 37 maps since late May.
In Ag1l's place, 100 Thieves are expected to pick up Monte IGL Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, with the Brit set to take over the role from Håvard "rain" Nygaard while he shuffles to a new role within the team.
Along with parting ways with Ag1l, 100 Thieves also waved goodbye to performance coach Jaime "Séns" Callejas, seeing the former ENCE aide leave the squad after six months.
100 Thieves are currently:
-
Håvard "rain" Nygaard -
William "sirah" Kjærsgaard -
Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren -
Nicolai "device" Reedtz -
Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander (Coach) -
André "Ag1l" Gil (Inactive)
