Marsborne and Overtake Sector top first BLAST Open Porto qualifier

Marsborne and Overtake Sector have claimed the top two spots in North America's first open qualifier for BLAST Open Fall 2026, meaning they will now move on to the closed qualifier in July. The winner of that qualifier will then receive an invite to the main event in Porto, Portugal.

Marsborne's path to qualification has included wins over raisedbypixels, Festina Lente, and regain. They would reverse sweep regain with wins on Dust2 and Mirage, and despite regain's Nazar "H0NeST" Stefinko leading the lobby in kills, Marsborne's Adam "freshie" Paterson boasted the highest FACEIT rating at 1.34.

Overtake Sector defeated Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's Without a Roof, as well as FarmVille and WINNERS. Their match against the legacy squad of Stewie2K, Timothy "autimatic" Ta, and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham saw Overtake Sector take the best-of-one on Dust2. They would lose the same map against WINNERS before reverse sweeping on Mirage and Ancient.

If either OverTake Sector or Marsborne win the single-elimination closed qualifier, their next stop will be Porto, where a prize pool of over $1 million awaits.
