Media: Luminosity target Monte core, lux for return to Counter-Strike

Luminosity are reportedly interested in stepping back into CS with Monte's core

According to a report by HLTV's Luís "MIRAA" Mira , Canadian esports organization Luminosity are in discussions to return to Counter-Strike by acquiring Monte's core of Aurimas "⁠Bymas⁠" Pipiras, Oscar "⁠AZUWU⁠" Bell and Aurélien "⁠afro⁠" Drapier when the trio's contract expire in the near future with Aleks "⁠Rainwaker⁠" Petrov also being touted as a potential addition to the lineup.

As for Monte IGL Jack "⁠Gizmy⁠" von Spreckelsen, HLTV understands that the brit is in is in talks to join a different project.

The potential return to the Counter-Strike scene by the Major-winning organization follows former owner Steve Maida reacquiring the organization from Vertiqal Studios back in January 2026, after the organization was previously sold by Enthusiast Gaming in August 2025.

With Maida reacquiring the organization he founded in 2015, there has been much speculation about a potential entry into CS2, with an April 2026 report by Dust2 Brasil that the organization were in talks with benched Legacy IGL Lucas "⁠lux⁠" Meneghini. HLTV now understands that lux is expected to captain the Monte core, seeing lux join his first English-speaking team as its skipper.

Luminosity were also reportedly interested in signing the 3DMAX roster alongside NA suitors TSM and Envy, however those talks seem to have ceases with this pivot towards Monte.
