Media: Luminosity and TSM join Envy in seeking return to CS with 3DMAX roster
According to a post made earlier today by French insider and GenOne CEO Sébastien "KRL" Perez, NA organizations Luminosity and TSM have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring 3DMAX's Counter-Strike 2 roster.
The French roster currently sits at 15th in the world on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) and have reportedly been the source of interest by multiple organizations. KRL previously claimed Envy are interested in the roster while lasource.gg reported that Spanish organization Heretics were in talks to acquire the roster that fell through for an unknown reason.
Luminosity's alleged interest in re-entering Counter-Strike with 3DMAX's lineup follows Luminosity founder Steve Maida re-acquiring the organization from Vertiqal Studios in January 2026. Luminosity most recently hosted a Brazilian CS:GO in late 2019 before exiting the scene after facing numerous setbacks and a lack of strong results.
Dust2 Brasil previously reported that Luminosity are in negotiations to build an international roster around Lucas "lux" Meneghini. It is unknown how those plans are affected by Luminosity's apparent interest in the 3DMAX lineup, with their availability apparently being a recent development.
As for TSM, the signing of 3DMAX would see the American organization return to CS2 after a costly and abortive attempt to build an international roster. The roster operated from August 2023 to December 2024 and failed to breach the top 40 in the VRS despite featuring a number of notable names.
It remains to be seen where the lineup ends up as these kind of negotiations can become drawn out affairs, especially with multiple interested parties. With three NA orgs targeting the French squad, it appears CS2 interests a number of names in the region albeit without any apparent interest in signing local talent.
