Media: Envy weighing return to CS with 3DMAX roster

And a return to an all-French lineup.

According to a post by GenOne CEO and former player Sébastien "KRL" Perez, Envy are interested in acquiring the 3DMAX roster, which was rumored to be in negotiations with Spanish org Heretics.

Envy's founder Mike "hastr0" Rufail revived the organization in early 2025, and has teased a potential return to Counter-Strike on multiple occasions. The org first entered CS in 2015, winning that year's DreamHack Cluj-Napoca Major with an all-French lineup including Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, and Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt.

Although not as dominant as Apex's current team Vitality, 3DMAX has been a consistent presence in French CS2, climbing to 15th in the global VRS rankings with NBK as their assistant coach. However, after failing to make the Cologne Major, the team seems to be available for purchase, with rumors that French orgs Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates may have also been in talks to acquire the roster.
