Envy hastr0: "We're already scouting to bring a Counter-Strike team back to Envy"
In a video released today celebrating the return of Envy to esports in 2025, Envy CEO and owner Mike "hastr0" Rufail claimed the American organization is currently scouting out opportunities for the organization to return to Counter-Strike 2 and "get Envy back to Majors."
The announcement comes six months after hastr0 reacquired the Envy brand from OpTic on January 17th and first announced his interest in Envy returning to Counter-Strike in early May.
hastr0 says that the goal for Envy in returning to Counter-Strike would be to sign a roster that has a shot at succeeding with it being intimated that making the Major is a significant goal for the organization.
While hastr0 has sparse on details in the short section on Counter-Strike in the video hastr0 claims that the goal is to return to something akin to the legendary French roster that DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015 while also admitting that the organization left CS too early when they pulled out of the game in 2021.
While fans may hope that Envy will return and host an NA roster, the current state of the NA scene does not align with hastr0's goal of having a tournament winning roster. As such, it remains to be seen what form, if any, an Envy CS roster would look like in the future.
