BC Game Masters announce upcoming Asian circuit will pivot to North America

More tournaments are always welcome news.

BC Game Masters (BCGM), the event branch of BC.Game, has announced plans to move an upcoming circuit from Asia to North America. The tournament organizer cited high demand and community voices as the main reasons for the move. Regardless of the reason, the news is a big win for the region, as events have been scarce, especially those that historically boast sizable prize pools.

While they did note the events would begin in quarter three of the year (July-September), not much else is known about what they will look like. However, the events are likely to resemble the ongoing BCGM Season 2 Europe Series. Those are online events with 24 teams all invited via the VRS. Similar to other online series like CCT and Thunderpick, most teams begin in the group stage, while the highest-ranked are invited directly to the playoffs.

These European series feature an all-bo3 Swiss System group stage followed by a single-elimination bo3 playoff bracket, a format notably seen in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series. They also sport a huge $50,000 prize pool with $22,000 going to the winner.

No guarantees can be made that this number of teams and prize pool will carry over to North America, but more opportunities for recurring VRS events are always welcome.
