
Voca beat Wildcard in ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 4 final
Voca are the champions of the final cup of ECL Season 51, defeating Wildcard in a rematch of the upper final.
Despite losing 2-0 in their previous matchup and only amassing ten rounds in the whole series, Voca turned the tables on Wildcard, winning 2-0 in the grand final.
The series began with Wildcard's Dust2 pick, the same map they had beaten Voca 13-4 on in their previous match. This time around, it was a much tighter affair in the first half, with both sides deadlocked at 6-6 at halftime. In the second half, T side, Voca took control, allowing Wildcard to win only two rounds and stealing the first map 13-8.
Overpass started with Wildcard taking a 6-2 edge on the CT side, but Voca closed strong to leave the scores tied at 6-6 again. Wildcard quickly jumped out to a 12-7 lead, but Voca fought back again with five straight rounds to force overtime. In the extra period, Voca swept Wildcard to take the map 16-12 and win the title in ECL Cup 4.
Paytyn "junior" Johnson was the highest-rated player in the series, with the AWPer posting the best K/D differential at 37-28.
With the win, Voca join M80, InControl, and Chicken Coop in the ESL Challenger League Season 51 North America Finals. The winner of that four-team single-elimination event will earn a berth at ESL Pro League Season 24.
