It's finally time

Breaking: Falcons officially announce karrigan to replace kyxsan

Who could've seen this coming?

About a week after sources suggested the move, Falcons have unveiled their blockbuster signing of IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen from FaZe. With the move comes the ripple effect of former Falcons IGL Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski being removed from the lineup.

Though this change wasn't exactly a surprise, it is still one of the most noteworthy transfers in Counter-Strike history.

Shortly after the official announcement, karrigan posted online about the move. He said, "Excited to announce that I’m joining Falcons and reconnecting with my old brothers Niko and Danny, together with new teammates that I’m excited to work alongside with. Let’s make history."

Though Falcons have been a consistent presence in the playoffs for a while, they have been just as consistent at failing to win trophies. The addition of karrigan represents a Hail Mary effort to finally take home some silverware in an era when Vitality seems to hog it all. Even with FaZe's recent failures with him at the helm, karrigan's history as an elite IGL, particularly in leading superstars in high-pressure moments, could prove invaluable for Falcons.

karrigan's move away from FaZe comes at a difficult time for the organization, not long after they failed to qualify for the IEM Cologne Major. With no reports as to who they will bring in to replace karrigan, FaZe seems to be up a creek without a paddle. Their next event in Fort Worth is quickly approaching, so we will soon find out who they plan on fielding in the short term.

Is this the move that will finally put a stop to Vitality's era, or is this the last gasp before a Counter-Strike legend hangs up his mouse?
