Bad Luck Brit: CYPHER says latest org died right as he was about to join team

FRAG Blocktober 2025 attendee and British prospect Cai "CYPHER" Watson has revealed on X that his latest team has crumbled right before his eyes as the unnamed organization reportedly "disbanded as soon as [he went] to sign the contract." While the 23 year old did reveal the organization he was looking to join, Vladislav "GromovCS" Gromov reported on July 13th that CYPHER was being tested out by the Ukrainian organization as part of an impressive lineup for the tier-three organization that was reportedly also featured Pavle "maden" Bošković and Nemanja "nexa" Isaković.

ALGO, much like CYPHER, have had a troubled history in Counter-Strike 2 after entering the game in 2025. In the past year the organization has fielded 20 different players as they have struggled to find a winning combination. However, the organization only reached 89th in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) back in February and now sit at 169th in the world.

In some ways the move was cursed from the beginning as CYPHER has had his own run of bad luck in the past three years after reaching the quarterfinals of the BLAST.tv Paris Major back in 2023. Since then CYPHER has played for the poorly-run TSM during their brief return to the scene, BLEED before they collapsed due to financial issues, and an early iteration of BC.Game that was equally troubled that struggled to get off the ground.

From there, he joined Fnatic, notably winning a stacked FRAG Blocktober 2025 and claim a spot at StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 before being controversially sidelined in favor of Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson.

Finally, he had a loan spell with 500, playing for the casino-backed organization for two months before they pulled out of CS2 due to Valve's changing rules about skin sponsors.

Overall, it isn't hard to see why CYPHER feels he has been extremely unlucky in the team lottery as of late. For what its worth, we hope CYPHER will find a good home soon and we'll have the chance to hopefully participate at some more NA LANs in the future.
