Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Semifinal #1: Wolffe leads insane players to the final
The first semifinal of the playoffs of Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 was insane players v. Zomblers.
insane players swept Zomblers, thanks in large part to impressive play from Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield, who logged 53 frags, nine more than his next closest teammate and 18 more than the next closest opponent.
The series was kicked off on Zomblers' Nuke pick. insane players started well on the CT side, taking an early 6-1 edge. Zomblers stabilized, winning three rounds late in the half to cut the deficit to 8-4. insane players went on a three-round streak to begin the second half and secure eleven rounds, making the mountain too high for Zomblers to climb. insane players closed out the map with a comfortable 13-7 win.
The second map was Mirage, where insane players were keen on closing out the series. They jumped out to another early lead, going up 5-1. Zomblers battled back to even the scores at six apiece at halftime. It was another tight half, as Zomblers came back from 10-7 down to take a 12-10 lead and give themselves two map points. However, insane players answered with the final two rounds of regulation to force overtime. insane players managed to secure two rounds in either overtime half to squeak out the win, 16-14, and book their ticket to the final.
Wolffe was in inspired form, going 52-31 with a stellar 1.64 rating to propel insane players to the win.
