Registration opens for Canadian Intercollegiate Exhibition CS2 tournament

A chance for Canadian students to shine.

On April 1st, the Canadian Intercollegiate Exhibition (CIE) announced that registration for the Counter-Strike 2 tournament taking place alongside the event had opened. The greater CIE event will run from May 1st to May 9th and showcase esports programs from across the country.

The CS2 tournament will take place from May 6th to May 8th in partnership with Ottawa-based community organization ThirdSite, which has hosted watch parties among other events in the past.

As the tournament is taking place in conjunction with the CIE, only teams composed of players from the same Canadian post-secondary institution may register. Several institutions have already signed up, like the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University.

The tournament will feature a $400 prize pool and a maximum of 32 teams. The format will be a single- elimination bracket with all rounds before the semifinals played on May 6th. May 7th will be the semifinals, and May 8th will be the final.

Teams interested in registering have until the end of May 4th to claim a spot. The link to sign up and join the FACEIT page can be found here.
