Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Day 1 recap: CoolComs leads Zomblers to opening match win
Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7, powered by INUI, got started last night, with two matches taking place.
In one match, Zomblers came back to reverse sweep Clockwork thanks to immense play from Connor "CoolComs" Barnes, while FarmVille bested team mouse in a three-map series.
Zomblers 2-1 Clockwork
Zomblers chose Nuke to begin the series v. Clockwork, but it was the latter who took the initiative on the CT side. Clockwork held a 9-3 lead, winning seven of the first eight rounds to begin the game. Zomblers put up a fight in the second half, reducing the lead to 11-10, but Clockwork held on to steal their opponents' map 13-10.
Zomblers took the first three rounds of Clockwork's pick of Overpass, but Clockwork answered back with six rounds in a row to seize the advantage. Zomblers answered back with the final two rounds and took that momentum into the second half. They dropped just two rounds on the traditionally difficult T side to win the map 13-8.
The final map of the series was Inferno, and it was here that Clockwork ran out of gas. They gave up streaks of four and five rounds in the first half to give Zomblers a 9-3 halftime lead. Clockwork took the first two rounds in the second half, but that was all they could muster, losing the map 13-5 and the series 2-1.
CoolComs posted 73 frags in the series, including 33 on Overpass alone. The British player had 19 more kills than the next-closest player, teammate Nikolaos "Pose1doNN" Antoniou.

In the other series, FarmVille started things off with Ancient. team mouse and FarmVille were going back-and-forth early with the former holding a 3-2 lead. That was the last time team mouse would have an advantage in the map, as FarmVille won six rounds from seven to take an 8-4 halftime lead and all five rounds in the second half to win the map 13-4.
team mouse looked to bounce back on Anubis, where it was a much closer game. Again, it was an even map through the first few rounds, with team mouse sticking around to take a 7-5 lead into the halftime break. FarmVille took the lead at 9-8, but team mouse answered with four rounds in a row to secure three opportunities at map point. The would need all three rounds, as they held on 13-11 to even the series at 1-1.
Unfortunately for team mouse, the decider of Inferno was a non-starter for them. FarmVille took won the first eleven rounds to all but put team mouse away. FarmVille conceded just three rounds in the final map to win 13-3 and start 1-0 in Eagle Masters Series 7.
Brody "Beakie" Kelly and Christopher "cJ dA K1nG" Jones both logged 52 kills in the three-map series to propel FarmVille past team mouse.
