Voca take the crown at FRAG York
Voca have topped FRAG York after a masterclass performance at the tournament, where they only dropped one map.
They were perfect all the way until the final, losing one map in their clash with Fisher College.
Voca downed BOSS in the semifinal 2-0 after 13-6 and 13-3 wins on Ancient and Mirage. Fisher, on the other hand, played LAG in their semifinal match. The college team swept LAG with a 13-6 victory on Ancient and a 16-13 OT win on Inferno.
The best-of-five final started on Fisher College's first pick of Nuke, where they put up a very respectable seven rounds on their T side to hold a 7-5 halftime lead. Voca won five rounds in a row to take a 10-7 advantage, but Fisher clutched up, answering with six on the bounce to win the map 13-10.
Voca looked to bounce back on their choice of Mirage, and were primed to do so thanks to an 8-4 first-half lead. Fisher never got closer than four rounds behind in the second half, with Voca winning 13-7.
Fisher's second pick in the series was Ancient, but the jungle would not be kind to the European side. It was a close affair early, with Voca holding a 3-2 lead, but Fisher couldn't keep up. Voca ran away with the map, taking a 10-2 lead into the interval that they easily converted to a 13-4 victory on Ancient.
Voca were keen on closing the series on their second pick of Overpass. Fisher started on the preferred CT side, but it was Voca who came out holding a slim 7-5 lead at the end of the first period. The Americans were able to take advantage of their defensive half, dropping only three rounds to secure the 13-8 win and the title at FRAG York 2026.
Wyatt "snav" Phillippi was the final's most outstanding player, as he registered 73 kills in the series, nine more than the next closest player.
