messioso points out possible TOR violation that cost NRG a spot at BLAST Fort Worth
Graham "messioso" Pitt has raised an issue with the additional info for BLAST Rivals Fort Worth 2026.
BLAST announced on June 20th, 2025 that the Fort Worth tournament would have four teams invited from the Global VRS rankings and four teams from regional wildcard slots.
Then on July 3rd of last year, BLAST said that all eight of the teams invited to Rivals events would come from the Global VRS rankings.
The significance of the second entry is that the Additional Info cutoff date for BLAST Rivals Fort Worth 2026 was June 29th, 2025, because of the event's April 29th, 2026 start date. Messioso commented on the matter, "The second post changing the slot allocation on the 3rd of July is within 10 months and thus not a valid submission for Additional Info."
Under the previous invite format, NRG and MIBR would have secured invites to the event via the Regional Wildcard slots. After the change to the Additional Info, four of these invites would be allocated to global VRS invites instead of to inviting the highest-ranked NA, SA, EU, and Asian teams.
messioso went on to speculate about what, if anything, will be done by Valve to ensure that TO's are following the rules set by the CS developer.
