Is a wet mousepad key to a good game? Image Credit: Reddit

Why does this pro CS2 player pour water on his mousepad before every game?

Don't try this at home, kids.

Reddit user Mariux10 noticed an interesting habit from one of the players in the Nexus v. Betclic match at DraculaN Season 5. Nexus player David "fnl" Mușuroiu poured water on his mousepad before the match, prompting many on Reddit to speculate about the reason for this phenomenon.

While fnl hasn't come out and said why, User ankgamer05 in the thread speculated that he is copying some other pros who have used water to keep friction consistent in different climates with varying humidity.

Over in Overwatch, Saudi player Ibrahem "Quartz" Alali is apparently known for wetting his mousepad and has found some measure of success with that approach.

We're not sold, however fnl did post a 1.19 rating over seven maps in Romania, so perhaps there's something to it?

Will you be giving this method a try before your Premier or FACEIT games?
