Money well spent?

Spirit confirm they sold kyousuke to Falcons for €2 million

The discussion around his buyout is finally over.

After plenty of speculation and a back-and-forth between insiders and Falcons, Spirit has confirmed that the Saudi-backed organization paid "around €2 million" to secure the services of Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin.

The buyout sum was revealed by Spirit's Director of Marketing, Konstantin Machaidze, in a recent Spirit documentary.

kyousuke made his choice, and when he made it, our task was to protect the interests of the organization. So we started discussing the transfer and made it so they would have to pay a large sum of money for him.

[It was] around two million euros. kyousuke is very hyped, everyone thinks he is the new donk. On the other hand, some people reacted to the rumors about this price by saying something like, 'He has never played a proper tier-one LAN before, that must be an awesome price for an unproven player like that.'

The news comes months after the Falcons' Chairman Mossad "Msdossary" Aldossary publicly denied claims that his organization had paid around $2 million for kyousuke.

With the confirmation, kyousuke is definitely amongst the most expensive transfers in the history of Counter-Strike esports.
