OverDrive claims Falcons paid ~$2,000,000 for kyousuke
Russian insider and Spirit's unofficial talent scout Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov has claimed that Spirit Academy player Maxim "kyousuke" Lukin's upcoming transfer to Falcons cost the Saudi organization nearly $2,000,000, making the untested 17-year-old one of the most expensive transfers in Counter-Strike 2 history. For context, m0NESY reportedly cost Falcons $2.5m.
kyosuke has long been tied to a move to Falcons, with Dust2.dk, Sheep Esports, Guillaume "neL" Rathier, and OverDrive all reporting on the upcoming move in recent months. With Falcons exiting the BLAST.tv Austin Major with a disastrous 0-3 performance it is assumed that it is only a matter of time before the Russian youngster becomes the latest pricy purchase for Falcons.
For context, while buyouts prices should always be taken with a grain of salt, it is worth remembering that OverDrive is effectively an employee of Spirit despite the Russian "fixer" trying to muddy the waters at every opportunity — including in an early 2025 interview with HLTV.
