Jorko and JT will seemingly both get to play BLAST Bounty Season 2 after all

Breaking: BLAST U-Turn allowing Liquid to field new roster in BLAST Bounty Season 2

Jorko's debut with Liquid is seemingly back on the table

BLAST have issued an update regarding Liquid's participation in the upcoming BLAST Bounty Season 2 event, stating that upon review of Valve's Wildcard invite rules Liquid are allowed to use a different configuration of three players than initially reported on to maintain eligibility for the Wildcard invite.

Previously it appeared that Liquid would have to use one of Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak or Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek for the event alongside Keith "NAF" Markovic and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, however they have now been given the option to also use Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa in order to meet the requirements.

The implication of this update is clear as it should allow Liquid to field new addition Georgi "Jorko" Mitev instead of ultimate while also making room for Johnny "JT" Theodosiou to make his long-rumored debut on Liquid in place of siuhy.

While BLAST did not explicitly state why malbsMd is now eligible to count as a Wildcard player, it is likely due to the Guatemalan having played for G2 when they were within the Top 12 in the past year.

With all that said, this will open the door for Liquid to debut their new roster which is understood to consist of:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • United States Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski

  • Guatemala Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa

  • Georgi "Jorko" Mitev

  • Johnny "JT" Theodosiou

  • Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea (Coach)

Liquid selected Vitality as their opening opponent, setting up a difficult match for the team likely before they knew they could use their full roster.
