Voca mix top Esports Nation Cup USA Qualifier, joining five teams in ENC NA Closed Qualifier

The Esports Nations Cup USA Open Qualifier has come to a close, seeing a mixteam built around the Voca core take down Without a Roof to earn a spot in the North American Closed Qualifier. There the freshly-minted Team USA squad will take on five other squads to claim one of three spots in the main $1.32m Esports Nation Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Voca started day two of the Open Qualifier with a walkover win against SportsBetExpert likely owing to Derek "dare" Brown's sudden departure from the team. This set them up to face against Without a Roof in the grand finals, with the latter team coming straight off of a 2-1 upset win over the M80-majority STARS AND STRIPES mixteam.

The series kicked off with another impressive showing from Without a Roof on Cache, as the old timers won their their third Cache of the event, besting Voca 13-8 on it via a leading performance from Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte. Moving onto Ancient, Voca started the map with a 7-5 lead on their T-side before a dominant showing on their CT-side allowed them to secure the map 13-6 and force a third map in the series.

The first half of the final map, Dust2, saw Voca claim a 8-4 lead after a strong T-side effort before WaR were able to tie things up in round 16 after the two teams switched sides. From there Voca went on a commanding run of rounds, as they won the next five rounds in a row to take Dust2 13-8 as Wyatt "snav" Phillippi, Paytyn "junior" Johnson, and Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly all posted 20 or more kills.

The Closed Qualifier will kick off tomorrow with a double-elimination bracket deciding what three teams will represent our region at ENC 2026 this fall.
