Wildcard fall to Gentle Mates in Stake Ranked Episode 3 opener
Wildcard begain their journey at Stake Ranked Episode 3 with an upper bracket quarterfinal against Gentle Mates.
The North American team played the Spanish side close, but ultimately were beaten in a 2-0 sweep in Barcelona.
Gentle Mates opted to go to Inferno for map one. Wildcard begin with a 4-1 lead after losing the pistol, but the Europeans clawed the game back to 6-6 at halftime. Wildcard took the slight edge again in the second half T side, but it was Gentle Mates who closed strong to win the map 13-10.
Wildcard's pick was Nuke, however, GM who took advantage of the favored CT side to jump out to a 9-3 halftime lead. The NA squad started to fight back in their own defensive half, but Gentle Mates did what they needed to do, winning four of the final six rounds to take the map 13-9 and secure the 2-0 match victory.
Pere "sausol" Solsona Saumell was a cut above the rest, as he was the only player to eclipse 40 frags, dropping 43 in the series.
