Community rallies and raises $10k of $15k goal for FRAG photographer muenster after gear is stolen

On the night FRAG St. Clair ended, an unknown person stole all of Joseph "muenster" Lima's camera equipment from a staff member's vehicle. The full-time photographer and FRAG volunteer has reluctantly started a GoFundMe to recoup the losses, which Lima says insurance won't cover.

"I really hate needing to take money from other people," Lima posts, "but so many of you really want to help so a gofundme seems like the only option to be able to continue doing what I love."

In less than 24 hours, the GoFundMe has garnered over $10,000, and will surely reach the $15,000 goal Lima set as a "guess for the minimum value" of what was stolen.

Members of the NA CS community have come together to support Lima, with figures like Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, Mike "DarfMike" Winnick, and Jadan "HexT" Postma all encouraging and contributing to the fundraiser.

Lima tells Dust2.us:

I don’t really have any words that can describe how thankful I am to the entire CS and even other esports communities for believing in me and what I do enough to want to help me get back to work so quickly.

I thought getting 10k would be a long shot but raising that much in less than 24 hours feels unreal. All the support and donations honestly made me forget how unlucky and shitty the day had started. Once I rebuild my photo kit I’ll make sure to continue doing my best to deliver the CS community the best photos I can.
