SOFLO CS2 announce $1,280 SOFLO SLAM 2 tournament

SOFLO CS2, a new tournament operator and community hub based in Southern Florida, have announced SOFLO SLAM 2, a new tournament offering with a max prize of $,1280 that is set to run from August 1st to August 2nd. The Unranked tournament held in collaboration with SCL.GG will feature up to 32 teams competing in a single-elimination Bo3 format with a scaling prizepool based on the number of signups. The prizepool is funded by signups, with spots going for $50 per team.

SOFLO held their first CS2 event back in mid-June, a modest seven-team event with a prizepool of $50 and limited to players based on Florida. For this second event SOFLO CS2 are going nationwide, with the event open to teams across North America.

The head of SOFLO CS2, _Slim_, described SOFLO CS2 to Dust2.us as a small project ran by himself and a few community volunteers. With the founding of SOFLO in June, _Slim_ hopes to increase the presence of Florida in the NA Counter-Strike landscape while running tournaments, watch parties, and other events primarily through their Discord that can be found here.

He says that in future SOFLO CS2 hope to build up the Florida CS2 scene and collaborate with universities and LAN center in South Florida with to bring more events to the state and then the wider region.

The initiative comes after FRAG held their third event in South Florida at the start of the year, FRAG Miami 2 2026, which saw 26 teams converge on the region for the $8,000 event.
