NA teams absent from PGL Masters Bucharest invite list as most big names claim spots

PGL has just announced the twelve teams receiving invites to their PGL Masters Bucharest event, which will be held at PGL's studio in Romania from October 24th to October 31st. Every team except for Falcons accepted their invite, meaning teams below the #13 spot will need to rely on the four regional qualifiers if they want to attend.

As the highest-ranked team on the July NA VRS was M80 at #24, no NA teams received invites.

As the last significant LAN before the PGL Major Singapore VRS cut-off on November 2nd, the event is an important one. Though all the teams that accepted invites are high on the current VRS, a lot can change in the coming months, especially for teams on the rise like 9z and BetBoom. Getting to play at least three LAN matches at an event with a large prize pool is an enticing offer that few would turn down.

Though no NA teams received invites, there will be at least one in attendance. The last four of the 16 spots at the event will be decided through regional qualifiers, of which NA gets one. This could potentially give that team a significant bump in their fight to earn a spot at the PGL Major Singapore, though it would also require them to do well in the event.
