See who teams NA chose as Liquid, M80, Wildcard get ready for BLAST Bounty Season 2

The opening matchups for the online stage of BLAST Bounty Season 2 have been drawn, seeing the sixteen lowest-ranked teams in the event pick their opponents in a live draw today. With NA looking a bit worse for wear on the Global Valve Regional Standings (VRS) at the moment, all but one of our teams, Wildcard, were seeded in the bottom half of the event, meaning they were able to choose their opponents.

The first NA team to know their matchup was Wildcard as they were selected by Swedish hopefuls Alliance. Wildcard have a decent record against European opposition of their level, so there is cause for that they can take down Simon "twist" Eliasson and co. and make their way into the second round of the bracket.

Next up, M80 used their pick to select NIP as their opening opponent in the event. With NIP only recently adding Roman "n0te" Hamze to the lineup, this was a sensible pick from M80 especially as they had limited options to choose from in the draw.

The final NA team to pick, Liquid, were in a really rough spot as the second-to-last team to select an opponent, with only Vitality, Spirit, and Falcons up for grabs. Liquid chose Vitality, with Viktor "flashie" Tamás Bea saying the team had nothing to lose, especially as they were expected to have to field Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak as a stand-in at the time.

However, with BLAST updating their ruling allowing the team to effectively use their full roster thanks to being able to use Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, we'll have to see if this choice pans while keeping in mind Liquid had three "bad" options.
