Passion UA stun FaZe in overtime at DraculaN
After seemingly falling out of contention for the final Americas invites to IEM Cologne, Passion UA have gained 41 VRS points from a massive victory over #24th-ranked FaZe, who are on a downward spiral out of Europe's race toward the Major.
Passion UA opened Anubis by converting a 3v5 on the pistol round, and the half ended in an even 6-6. As was the case yesterday vs Eternal Fire, Passion UA's T side stepped up to close out the map.
The opening pistol again went to Passion UA on Nuke, with Santino "try" Rigal securing an AWP 3K in round two. FaZe then went on a nine-round heater. The second half starts off with a back-and-forth as FaZe secure matchpoint via Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken multi-kill. However, Passion UA strike back with a six-round streak, including a 4K from Vladyslav "Kvem" Korol and clutch 1v1 from Nicholas "nicx" Lee, to force overtime. FaZe then took the overtime rounds handily, finally winning their map pick 16-12.
After falling 1-6 on Dust2, Passion UA came back to end the half down just two rounds. They eventually evened the score at 9-9 and took an 11-10 lead, at which point Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold almost single-handedly put his team on matchpoint. try would accomplish just that with the AWP, but FaZe were able to push for another overtime. Despite an OT Ace from Finn "karrigan" Andersen, it was Passion UA to win the extended series 16-14. try finished the map with 22 AWP kills, while Senzu finished with 10 AWP frags of his own and a lobby-high 70 frags on the day.
