Chicken Coop best SportsBetExpert to win ECL S51 Cup 2
After getting dominated by SportsBetExpert in the upper-bracket final, Chicken Coop turned it around in their rematch to win ECL S51 Cup 2. The team claimed a 2-0 victory after showing up in two close maps with some serious clutch factor.
They end the event with $8,000 in prizes and a spot in the ECL S51 Regional Final for a chance to play in ESL Pro League Season 24.
As for runners-up SportsBetExpert, team owner Peter "PETE187" Anadio decided to cut the entire roster due to his dissatisfaction with the result.
The final began on Chicken Coop's pick of Nuke. Though SBE took the pistol, Chicken Coop still took an early 3-1 lead. SBE held control for the rest of the half, but Chicken Coop still got a solid five rounds on their T-side. After taking the pistol and early rounds to take a 9-7 lead, Chicken Coop lost three to go down 9-10. However, they got four more back to take their pick, 13-10.
SportsBetExpert picked Mirage and once again won the first pistol. Chicken Coop responded with a dominant rest of the half, putting up a 10-2 lead. After Chicken Coop won the second pistol, SBE started making a comeback. They closed the gap and put up a strong fight, but the lead was too much to overcome. Chicken Coop closed the map 13-10 and won the series.
One factor that went in Chicken Coop's favor was the clutches. Over two maps, Chicken Coop won nine clutches, while SBE won none. The effort was spread as well; every Chicken Coop played got at least one clutch.
