FMPONE teases new map de_Splinter

Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling, the creator of de_Cache, has released a teaser of a new map called de_Splinter.

The setting, as the name suggests, is a sawmill in a mountainous region.

FMPONE said that Splinter is a "fairly faithful" remake of the map de_Coaline, so the layout of the map can be inferred from that of Coaline's.

In reply to a comment on his post, saying he will release one more map, de_Vegas, before transitioning his focus to developing indie games.

FMPONE is best known for creating Cache, a classic map in CS:GO that he remade for CS2. He sold the rights to the map to Valve in May 2025, which has opened a path for the map's return to the game.
