karrigan receives in-game IEM Cologne Major trophy as Valve reverses previous policy
Falcons' new IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen has received the in-game trophy for winning the IEM Cologne Major. This is a major pivot from Valve's previous policy, where substitutes were not given in-game trophies, and they were awarded to the player the sub was standing in for.
karrigan replaced the now-Aurora player Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski in Falcons' roster, coming in as a "substitute" for the Major, although it was always clear that the Dane would take over full-time after the Major ended.
karrigan wasn't the only occurrence of this at Cologne, as Timur "FL4MUS" Marev received the trophy for BetBoom's quarterfinal placing instead of Pavel "S1ren" Ogloblin.
Valve did hold up the other section of this policy, where kyxsan was given stickers at the Major, including a champion sticker. The Macedonian will also likely keep the money that he is due from the sticker sales.
