Data suggests Valve has made more than $350 million off CS2 Armory
Valve has generated more than $350 million in revenue from the Armory that was introduced in the October 2nd, 2024 update, according to data gathered by X user @SigaTbh.
According to the data, the Sport & Field Collection has raked in the most cash at $86 million, with players likely going after the coveted M4A1-S Fade.
The Armory introduced new Limited Edition Skins, beginning with the Desert Eagle Heat Treated, which featured Case Hardened-like patterns. That Deagle skin was also the most sought-after of the Limited Edition skins, making $12.3 million. The most recent LTD. offering is the AK-47 Aphrodite, which features a variety of patterns, as well.
In the Armory update, Valve introduced Charms, similar to Gun Buddies in VALORANT, but they can be placed almost anywhere on the visible side of the gun.
Valve has also released two cases into the armory, with the Fever Case that is currently on offer taking the place of the previously featured Gallery Case.
The reaction to this information has varied, with content creator ArrowCS pointing out the disparity in what skin creators make, saying, "The Armory has made atleast $636,000,000 in under 2 years. If you get your skin accepted, you receive $35,000." Another quote repost from @jparkjmc on X had praises for Valve, "Valve is quietly the most successful startup in history. $320M ARR across 2 yrs (in pure profit) just from ONE of their many storefronts btw."
