Here are all the details you need to know about the CS2 bomb update
The July 8th CS2 update brought a huge redesign to the bomb explosion on defusal maps. Bombs no longer deal damage to players instantly; instead, the explosion spreads from the plant's spot, dealing location-based damage, similar to before.
Another big change is that running around a corner will lessen the effects of the explosion, and standing behind a thick wall will stifle the bomb blast entirely.
One notable adjustment is that players can survive on the A bombsite on Nuke when the bomb is planted at B and vice versa, while taking no damage.
The bomb adjustments have made waves (no pun intended) in the community, with many having big reactions to the bomb blast's effect in-game.
Erik "fl0m" Flom played around with the new bomb on Cache, calling the explosion "so sick".
Streamer Austin "austin" Meadows appears to have even felt the explosion in real life from A main on Cache.
Valve just released another small update and "removed map-wide minimum one point of damage from new C4 explosions," whereas before, a player on 1hp would die regardless of distance away from the bomb in the new system.
