ESL amend ESL Challenger League rulebook to allow mid-Cup roster changes
On July 7th ESL released an update to their rulebook used for all their events, making a number of changes to the rules for their online and offline events. In the press and on social media many focused on new rules enforcing Valve's sponsor restrictions for skins websites and new rules about offensive communications.
However, one arguably great change that went under the radar is ESL have opened up roster in ESL Challenge League events, allowing teams to make up to two roster changes during each Cup. Previously rosters were locked for each ESL Challenge League Cup, often putting teams in a difficult position if they made roster changes, often leading to an excessive number of forfeited matches across the league.
This change should make it a lot easier for teams to compete in the league despite the rigid schedule of the Cups still being an issue for teams as evidenced during Season 51.

Hopefully this will encourage more teams to accept invites to the Challenger League, increasing the overall quality of the event as teams fight for a spot in ESL Pro League Season 25.
ESL Challenger League Season 52 is set to kick off in North America on August 25th.
