messioso: "[Developing the NA region] is not going to be something that drives player signings here at 100T"
With Graham "messioso" Pitt and Sean "sgares" Gares joining 100 Thieves this week, the CS community has been abuzz with rumors and predictions regarding 100 Thieves' future roster in Counter-Strike 2. While the signing of European legend Håvard "rain" Nygaard should make the trajectory of the roster fairly clear, it hasn't stopped fans from speculating and requesting messioso to continue his work at Complexity and build an NA-majority roster.
To clear the air, messioso clarified his position in a reply on X last night, explaining that while he still supports the NA scene and believes in its overall importance to the ecosystem, his priority at 100T is build a competitive roster with pieces that make sense — regardless of the region.
While this doesn't rule out the addition of an exceptionally talent NA player, adding NA players for the sake of adding NA players clearly isn't the priority for 100 Thieves. It is also worth pointing out that 100 Thieves' roster will be based in Europe, making it more likely European players will make up a super-majority if not the totality of the roster.
However, in a world where we have names like Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, Nick "nicx" Lee, and Michael "grim" Wince regularly competing in Europe, perhaps one day we'll see 100 Thieves house an NA hopeful.
