Breaking: rain joins 100 Thieves
Håvard "rain" Nygaard officially joined 100 Thieves on November 13th, confirming a report from our sister website Dust2.dk on October 31st.
rain's announcement comes one day after 100 Thieves unveiled Graham "messioso" Pitt and Sean "sgares" Gares as Head of CS Operations and Head of FPS, respectively.
For now, it remains unclear whether rain will be the IGL or one of the riflers. After all, the Norwegian said he was open to becoming an IGL after being benched on FaZe in September.
But, rain put out a personal statement after the announcement went live.
"I have found a new home in 100 Thieves and a new and exciting challenge is about to start," he wrote on X.
"A lot of work to be done, but I will do everything I can to get back to the top!"
100 Thieves will be rain's first new team in nearly 10 years, as he joined FaZe in January 2016 and left the active lineup after ESL Pro League Season 22 in October. It remains to be seen if the Californian organization will sign another veteran, as messioso wants, or if rain will be the only one.
Aleksei "OverDrive" Birukov wrote on his Telegram on October 31st that 100 Thieves was trying to sign a core from GamerLegion, but the GamerLegion CEO said that "there are no active discussions" later on.
