Why will five players, including Twistzz, not get stickers for the StarLadder Budapest Major?

With Valve releasing stickers for the StarLadder Budapest Major today, there is much excitement as 160 players have been immortalized in the game with unique designs ahead of their appearance at the Major. However, five players set to head to Budapest in two weeks have not been given stickers, why is that?

Essentially it comes down to a number of teams opting to make roster changes in close proximity to when Valve sent out invites to the StarLadder Budapest Major on October 8th. As starting rosters were locked in on that date, any recent additions that had yet to play five matches for their team or any roster changes made after October 8th were barred from being part of the "starting lineup".

While these players were unable to join a roster's starting lineup, teams had until October 30th to register substitutes, who can be subbed in at any time during the Major. Unfortunately for subs, only the five starters on each of the 32 teams are eligible to receive in-game items, meaning teams' former players end up with the stickers.

This has happened a number of times in CS history, however it may be the most pronounced this time around as five players have missed out on stickers for Budapest.

The five players who have missed out on stickers and their benched teammates who will get stickers are:

• Unudelger "controlez" Baasanjargal -> Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold

• Andrey "tN1R" Tatarinovich -> Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia

• Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken -> Håvard "rain" Nygaard

• Milan "hypex" Polowiec -> Jeremy "Kursy" Gast

• Mykyta "jackasmo" Skyba -> Cai "CYPHER" Watson

Missing out on stickers for Budapest will hit especially hard for hypex as it is his first Major, so hopefully the Pole will have more Majors in his future.
