Liquid replace The MongolZ at BLAST Open London 2025

Liquid will have a good opportunity to climb the VRS rankings.

BLAST has invited Liquid to replace The MongolZ in the BLAST Open London event due to visa issues. Liquid were the next team in line for an invite, according to the Global Valve Regional Standings (VRS) rankings.

This is great news for Liquid, as they get to play in BLAST Open London despite being eliminated in the European Qualifier by VP.Prodigy last week.

BLAST Open London will present a good opportunity for Liquid to climb the VRS rankings. The team have dropped from 17th to 26th in the official August Global VRS update after a string of bad results, most notably the aforementioned loss to VP.Prodigy and the one to Sashi at the ESL Pro League Season 22 EU Qualifier.

But, to do that, Liquid will have to improve their game and qualify for the BLAST Open London LAN finals. The online group stage will run from August 27th to September 1st, and Liquid and the other fifteen teams will battle through a double-elimination bracket to secure one of the six spots in the playoffs, which begin on September 5th.

The BLAST Open London team list is as follows:

Vitality
MOUZ
Spirit
Natus Vincere
Brazil FURIA
FaZe
Brazil paiN
G2

GamerLegion
Brazil Legacy
Virtus.pro
Sweden HEROIC
Australia FlyQuest
M80
Denmark ECSTATIC
World Liquid
