Falcons are running a "non-PC" bootcamp before IEM Cologne
Lars Robl, Falcons' Sportspsychologist and Director of Performance, announced on July 16th that the team is doing a "non-PC" bootcamp to onboard their new player Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin less than a week before the start of IEM Cologne.
The image shared by Robl on X shows the in-game leader Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski standing still next to various drawings on the wall while the rest of the team is sitting and probably listening to what kyxsan has to say.
While the drawings don't tell much, they look unrelated to Counter-Strike.
Later, Robl shared another photo of the "non-PC" bootcamp, in which he said that the team is going through a medical check-up.
Even though we know so little about what's going on in this bootcamp, it didn't take long for fans and community figures to start cracking jokes toward Falcons and Robl for this approach.
NA pundit Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg, for example, wrote that "they're definitely choking another Major."
There are also dozens of memes, including one where an X user made it look like Falcons were watching their disastrous round versus MIBR at the Major.
This isn't the first time that Robl has faced online criticism for his methods in recent times. The Director of Performance was heavily criticized for allegedly interfering with Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov's routine heading to the Austin Major.
Robl's decision drew greater scorn as a result of Falcons having an awful campaign at the Major, and there's good reason to be focusing on CS2 prior to IEM Cologne. Valve dropped a big patch yesterday, removing Anubis from the map rotation and adding Overpass, among other changes.
However, since Falcons has already qualified for the Group Stage, their Cologne run won't start until July 26th.
