ESL confirms Overpass will debut at IEM Cologne 2025
Overpass will replace Anubis at IEM Cologne 2025, ESL announced on July 16th. This means that Stage One teams will have seven days to prepare for the new map pool, and those playing FISSURE Playground 1 will have even less.
ESL also announced that the currently ongoing qualifiers for ESL Pro League Season 22 will continue to be played on the old patch, so teams won't have to learn Overpass halfway through it.
BLAST, another big tournament organizer, will enact Overpass from August 1st onwards. This means that teams attending the BLAST Rising Closed Qualifiers will play on the new patch.
While all the eyes are obviously on Overpass swapping Anubis, yesterday's patch also nerfed the MP9 and buffed the CT molotov and economy. So, there's a lot for teams to learn in the coming days.
IEM Cologne Stage One will kick off on July 23rd.
