Breaking: CS2 update removes Anubis, brings Overpass into Active Duty map pool

We're going back to Germany.

Overpass is back in CS2 after departing in April 2024 and being replaced by Train.

The map pool change comes with Valve's introduction of Premier Season 3 into Counter-Strike. Also included in the update are a few changes to CT side equipment and economy.

The MP9 is being nerfed, the incidneary grenade is receiving a buff, and all CTs now get a boost of cash for frags in a round.

The full patch notes are as follows:

Premier Season Three

  • Premier Season Three is now open for business

  • Added Overpass to the Active Duty Map Pool

  • Removed Anubis from the Active Duty Map Pool

Gameplay

  • Incendiary Grenade - incendiary grenade fire spreads more rapidly

  • MP9 - increased recoil magnitude and substantially reduced jumping accuracy

  • In Competitive modes, Counter-Terrorists now receive a $50 team award for each Terrorist eliminated in a round

In addition to the in-game changes, Valve has added another layer of security to keep users' CS items safe. If control of an account is lost, the account holder can reverse all item trades done within the previous seven days. The trade reversal feature is found on the trade history page. More information on trade reversals may be found here.
