FURIA dump new Wildcard out in last place in FISSURE Playground 1
Wildcard's new roster is off to a bad start as they bombed out of FISSURE Playground 1 after a one-sided loss to FURIA on July 16th. Wildcard made deep changes post-BLAST.tv Austin Major, having moved both Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and Love "phzy" Smidebrant to the bench to bring on Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell and Sebastian "fr3nd" Kuśmierz.
Playing FISSURE Playground 1 was never going to be easy for Wildcard, as they were in the same group as FURIA and GamerLegion, two of the favorites to win the tournament. And, to make things worse, Wildcard ended up playing both teams.
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek had a fair debut as the in-game leader against GamerLegion, as Wildcard won Inferno dominantly before perishing on Ancient and Dust2.

Fans hoped Wildcard would put up a fight against FURIA, too, but they didn't stand a chance.
The entire FURIA squad played well, and the Kazakh AWPer Danil "molodoy" Golubenko tore Wildcard apart, finishing the series with a ridiculous 40-8 K/D and 2.09 rating.

While it's definitely too soon to define whether this new Wildcard roster is good or bad, the results in FISSURE Playground 1 showed that they have a long way to go.
At least now, they'll have more time to practice before attending another tournament, as they won't be playing at IEM Cologne.
