100 Thieves' Nadeshot has spent more than $40K opening CS2 cases
100 Thieves' founder and former Call of Duty pro Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag has spent thousands opening cases over the past week with, to put it mildly, mixed results.
Nadeshot's first case opening stream occurred on June 23, opening cases for two hours before hopping into a FACEIT game. Over the next few days, Nadeshot would spend thousands on opening cases in search of a gold, even opting to open cases instead of co-stream his LA Thieves team playing in the Call of Duty League Championship.
According to Draft5.gg, he spent roughly $30,000 and opened more than 3,200 cases before finally landing his first gold: a Karambit Marble Fade, worth currently around $2,400.
But the openings did not stop, as more and more viewers tuned in to watch, leading to a boom in viewership on his channel. For context, Nadeshot's past streams of Warzone average between 100K to 200K total views. But five of his last six streams have surpassed those numbers: 433K on June 27, then 331K, then 450K, then 642K, and 452K. According to data from SullyGnome, he's the most watched CS2 streamer in total hours watched over the past week.
According to his video, Nadeshot has now spent more than $40,000 on cases. While opening cases, he's opened a handful of more gold items, including a valuable pair of Hedge Maze Sport Gloves. However, his most recent marathon last night produced no golds despite opening 1,000 cases. Nadeshot says he's taking today off to let his "pride and steam wallet recover."
Will he back tomorrow night? Almost certainly.
