Ska and company fall at the final hurdle

Mixed European roster defeats steel, Skadoodle, and NA veterans in Advanced qualifier final

The North Americans fell just short.

The ESEA Advanced NA Season 54 Qualifier just wrapped up, with a European team going by the name BTaJlbIE securing their spot in the next season.

Their win came at the expense of a roster of decorated NA veterans, including Joshua "steel" Nissan, Braxton "brax" Pierce (formerly known as swag), Leonardo "Laski" Arroyo, Logan "Voltage" Long, and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham. Earlier this year, the Valve bans on steel and brax stemming from the iBUYPOWER match fixing scandal finally expired, freeing them up to potentially participate in Majors.

The ESEA Advanced qualifier featured 136 teams, who battled it out for a single spot in Advanced. The tournament was single-elimination, and every round was a best-of-one.

The match on Ancient started off as evenly as possible, with both teams securing six rounds in the first half, leaving everything to play for in the second period. But the European mix squeaked out a win by a score of 13-11.

Artur "tarturb0b" Chornyi top-fragged for the winning side, posting 20 frags in the match. BTaJlbIE will advance to ESEA Advanced NA Season 54.
