Shaquille O'Neal: "To have this milestone [Major] in Austin, with NRG in the fight, is something truly special"
NBA legend and NRG investor Shaquille O'Neal has given a short interview for BLAST, the organizer of the Austin Major, on May 15th.
The former Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat superstar is excited about the upcoming NA Major and the fact that NRG will attend it.
"I’ll be rooting for the NRG boys at the upcoming BLAST.tv Austin Major as they represent America on our home turf here in the U.S," Shaq told BLAST.
"The Major isn’t just another event — it’s the pinnacle of esports, where the best of the best go head-to-head on the world’s biggest stage. To have this milestone event in Austin, with NRG in the fight, is something truly special, and I can't wait to see them battle it out."
Shaq was one of the first superstars from traditional sports to delve into the world of esports, as his investment in NRG dates back to 2016. The organization was founded in 2015 by the Sacramento Kings co-owners Andy Miller and Mark Mastrov.
Last year, Shaq helped to promote NRG's capsule in VALORANT. Will he also advertise the upcoming NRG CS2 stickers? We'll find out when Valve release the BLAST.tv Austin Major capsules.
