Official: ex-Nouns reform as Moneyball while adding Swedish duo
Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore has confirmed to Dust2.us the formation of a new lineup built around the former Nouns core following the end of support for the team by the Nouns DAO. This new lineup, named Moneyball, features Paytyn "junior" Johnson, Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore, and Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney from the former Nouns lineup alongside Swedish duo Simon "nomizz" Palm Niléhn and Anton "magi" Alevärn.
nomizz and magi recently relocated to North America at the start of the year and have since been competing on a mixteam named Daaku. In the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 1 Daaku raised eyebrows by beating BLUEJAYS and Marsborne in the Swiss Stage before ending their run in the quarterfinals with a 2-1 loss to Marsborne.
The Swedes with Moneyball as replacements for William "RUSH" Wierzba and Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell, the former having left the team this week while the latter has now made his exodus from the former Nouns lineup. According to Cryptic, Peeping is set to join an undisclosed "European core" after the BLAST.tv Austin Major, receiving the call up after impressive individual performances on Nouns, Party Astronauts, and Elevate.
While Moneyball are freed from all contractual obligations with Nouns, Cryptic told Dust2.us that the team plan on finishing ESL Challenger League Season 49 under the Nouns tag while fielding Peeping and Khizar "Momo" Rehman as stand-ins.
