Wildcard face their toughest opponent yet

Wildcard draws top-ranked Vitality in first round of BLAST Rivals Spring

The ultimate opening day test.

Wildcard, who coincidentally received the NA Wildcard invite to BLAST Rivals Spring, has been pulled into the same group as the red hot Vitality, and has drawn the trophy-hunting European roster in round one.

Vitality already have three trophies to their name this year between IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League S21, and BLAST Open Spring. They're in the midst of pursuing another trophy at IEM Melbourne, reaching the semifinals without dropping a map against FlyQuest, Liquid, and Falcons.

Vitality has only dropped a single series all year. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut is putting up numbers that somehow surpass even his incredible expectations: a 1.55 KD and a 1.42 player rating.

Wildcard comes in with some of their own momentum from the North American MRQ, but most recently faltered against BetBoom at CCT Global Finals, suffering a horrendous 13-0 loss on Dust2. They face a complete lower bracket run that begins tomorrow morning against 500.

Day one of BLAST Rivals Spring is April 30th. The full slate of first round matches at BLAST Rivals Spring consists of:

Vitality v. World Wildcard at 04:00AM
MOUZ v. Brazil paiN at 06:30AM
Spirit v. Australia FlyQuest at 09:00AM
FaZe v. Falcons at 11:30AM
