Official: FURIA unveil YEKINDAR
As first reported by Jairo "Foxer" Junior of GameArena yesterday, FURIA have announced the addition of Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis to the team's ranks, seeing the Latvian join FURIA as a stand-in through to the end of the BLAST.tv Austin Major. The addition of YEKINDAR sees FURIA continue their march towards an international roster following the addition of Danil "molodoy" Golubenko earlier this month and the benching of Felipe "skullz" Medeiros earlier today.
The move also marks YEKINDAR returns to action after being benched by Liquid at the end of 2024 following a prolonged period of underperformance from the former star. By adding YEKINDAR, FURIA are likely gambling on the former Virtus.pro player returning to his previous form under a new environment.
The changes to FURIA come after a dismal start to the year for the Brazilian organization, with the team failing to lock in a deep run at any tournaments this year while their aging roster has struggled to deliver on the server.
FURIA will be fielding the following lineup until after the BLAST.tv Austin Major:
-
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
-
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
-
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
-
Danil "molodoy" Golubenko
-
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis (Stand-in)
-
Sid "sidde" Macedo (Coach)
This new FURIA roster will debut at PGL Astana 2025 on May 10th.
