Will this be the end of cadiaN's stint in Astralis?

Breaking: Astralis miss their 5th Counter-Strike Major in a row

Denmark's top flight failed to qualify once again.

Astralis have failed to qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 via the European MRQ, and therefore will miss their fifth Counter-Strike Major in a row. Nicolai "device" Reedtz and co. made it into the final match of the EU MRQ, but ended up losing to the Ukrainian side B8 in a complete collapse on Ancient.

The result is obviously a disaster for Astralis, who hoped that they'd get back into the Major cycle by adding Casper "cadiaN" Møller in September 2024. However, the former HEROIC and Liquid IGL has failed to bring Astralis back to the Major twice now.

Astralis was one of the most successful CS:GO organizations in history, having lifted nothing but four CS:GO Major trophies between 2017 and 2019. However, success has proved elusive for the Danes in CS2 with a lack of trophies and Majors prompting multiple roster changes.

Astralis isn't the only historic organization to miss the BLAST.tv Austin Major, as other names such as fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas also failed to qualify for the first Major of 2025 despite its expansion to 32 teams.
