ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 3 Day 6 recap: LAG eliminated by InControl, F5 reach the finals
Last night was the sixth day of matches for the ESL Challenger League S51 Cup 3. F5 took down regain 2-0 to claim a spot in the final, and InControl secured a 2-0 upset to eliminate LAG in fourth place.
Despite entering ECL S51 Cups 2 and 3 as solid favorites to win, LAG were unable to reach even the top three in either. Following the lineup's recent losses to Fisher College at FRAG York and the PGL Astana qualifier, the squad has looked shaky.
InControl 2-0 LAG
InControl chose to start the lower bracket final on Mirage. After a massive eight-round run, InControl finally dropped a few rounds late in the half. Starting their CT-side up 9-3, the pistol win all but sealed InControl's victory as they cruised to a dominant 13-3 score.
LAG picked Inferno and started well to put InControl down 0-3. However, InControl got control right after and went nearly flawless to take an 8-4 lead. After the pistol and conversions, InControl took match point early at 12-4. LAG made a commendable effort to come back, but it was all for naught as InControl closed the map 13-11.

F5 2-0 regain
F5 picked Overpass and started with a pistol and conversion. regain hit back with a streak before some back-and-forth put F5 down 5-7. F5 won the second pistol and conversions to take a slight 8-7 lead. regain got another short round streak, but F5 regained control to close their pick 13-10.
regain picked Inferno, but F5 quickly took a 4-1 lead. The teams then traded streaks to tie the game going into the second half. F5 won their T-side pistol, but regain had them locked out until a final push sent the game to overtime. regain secured round one, but F5 took the rest to win the map 16-13.
