Wildcard lose grueling two-map series v. PARIVISION at PGL Bucharest 2026
Wildcard had the unfortunate task of facing the 7th-best team in the VRS rankings, PARIVISION, in the 2-2 round at PGL Bucharest 2026.
With a spot in the playoffs on the line, PARIVISION beat Wildcard 2-0, but both maps were much closer than the sweep would suggest.
The series began with Mirage, Wildcard's pick. PARIVISION started strong on the CT side, taking a 4-0 lead. They held Wildcard at arm's length for the half, keeping their four-round advantage with an 8-4 scoreline. Despite losing the first two rounds in the second half, Wildcard fought back with eight of the final ten rounds, including the last four rounds, to force overtime. Wildcard had a chance at map point in the first four overtime periods, but PARIVISION made them pay in the fifth, as they stole the map from the North Americans, 28-26.
PARIVISION chose Dust2 to try and close the series. This time it was Wildcard who started hot, winning the first seven rounds of the map and taking an 8-1 lead. The Russian side ended the first half with three rounds in a row to cut the lead to 8-4. They carried that momentum into the second half, winning three more rounds to bring their streak up to eight. Wildcard couldn't get a foothold in the second half, securing only three rounds and ropping the map 13-11. PARIVISION are now in the playoffs at PGL Bucharest 2026 as Wildcard fell just short, finishing 9th-11th.
AWPer and captain Dzhami "Jame" Ali was the driving force behind PARIVISION's win, posting 61 frags and a 1.27 rating in the series.
PARIVISION will now take on The MongolZ in the quarterfinals in Bucharest.
